What will the city of the future look like?
Will we be flying from place to place, Blade-Runner-style, in hovercraft? Or will our cities be completely pedestrianised? What place will cars have in our lives?
Audi wanted to know - and so it launched the Audi Urban Future Award, in which six architectural practices were invited to come up with a concept for mobility in the cities of 2030.
J Mayer H Architects were declared the winner at the Venice Biennale for A.Way, described by the jury as a concept where technology 'does not determine outcomes, but becomes an instrument for opening up urban space to multiple interventions, meanings, possibilities.'
