Make yourself at homeBased on the analogue Audi TV tuner, the high-resolution MMI colour display is developing into a full-standard colour television unit with astonishing picture and sound quality - ideal to keep you entertained if the DVD-based navigation system gets you to your destination a little early, as it tends to do.
Three tuners for the best possible receptionThe Audi TV tuner was designed specially for the extreme demands of mobile reception of analogue television stations under the most difficult reception conditions. That is why it comes with three tuners in one. Operating principleTwo tuners receive the picture and sound signals of the current selected TV programme, while a third conducts a continuous background search for other receivable stations. All three tuners are multi-standard, and receive the available analog TV signals. Digital TV is not yet possible on-board vehicles.
The signal is fed to the tuners by way of a total of four TV aerials mounted in the rear window. The optimum reception configuration is automatically and continuously determined, and the best picture and sound information available is delivered. A special picture stabilisation function delivers an optimum TV picture even when the vehicle is in motion.
A special background tuner continuously registers all receivable stations within the analogue TV reception range and automatically compiles a list of them for the viewer to select from. This enables you to see at a glance which TV channels are currently available. You can also connect up external devices such as a video camera or games console using a standard AV cable.
