Inspection ServiceInspection Service

All models (pre 2008 model year)

Audi offers you two basic servicing schemes: a conventional ‘Inspection Service’ and a flexible ‘LongLife Service’.

With the flexible LongLife Service, onboard sensors monitor the engine, mileage, brake-pad wear and battery condition. Using this information, the internal computer calculates maintenance intervals. So, every Audi is serviced when it needs it, significantly lowering maintenance costs over the car’s lifetime.

Advanced engineering and technology in Audi’s cars makes this possible. Furthermore, Audi use high-grade, long-life oils to withstand ageing and high loads without deterioration. They provide exceptional levels of protection, are better environmentally and deliver average fuel savings of 2.7%.

Inspection Service

Vehicle Usage:
Mileage
Less than 10,000* miles per annum.
Type of journey
Mainly city / town-centre driving. Short journeys.
Conditions
Frequent cold starts, high engine loading – e.g. frequent hill climbs, vehicle fully loaded, towing.
Driving style
Uneconomical – e.g. heavy acceleration, heavy braking, constant changes in speed, constant use of high revs, ‘sporty’ driving.
Recommended Service Intervals:
Oil-change Service
Every 10,000* miles / 1 year.
Interval Service
Every 20,000* miles / 2 years.
Interval Service inspection
Every 40,000* miles / 4 years.

LongLife Service Regime

Vehicle Usage:
Mileage
More than 30 miles per day.
Type of journey
Motorway and main-road driving. Mainly longer distance journeys.
Constant speeds.
Conditions
Normal engine loading – e.g. with little or no towing, with little or no hill climbs. Normal vehicle loading.
Driving style
Moderate acceleration, moderate braking, engine revs mainly below 3,000.
Recommended Service Intervals:
Interval Service
Flexible to a maximum of 20,000* miles / 2 years.
Interval Service inspection
Every 40,000* miles / 4 years.
*Mileages are approximate as the Service indicator system uses Km to calculate the distance to service.

A3, TT and A5 models (from 2008 model year)

Audi have introduced an improved variable maintenance concept. Now you can opt for either the traditional ‘Fixed Interval Inspection’ servicing with oil changes every 10,000 miles or for the new enhanced servicing concept.

With this new ‘Flexible Service Regime’ the oil change is variable and could be carried out at up to a maximum of 20,000 miles or 2 years depending on operating conditions. Inspection Service elements are separate to oil changing, and are carried out for the first time at 3 years or 20,000 miles and then every 2 years/20,000 miles thereafter.

The time and distance remaining until each type of service is due is displayed individually via the Service Display on the car’s computer.

Fixed Interval Inspection

Fixed Service Intervals:
Oil-change Service
Every 10,000* miles / 1 year.
Interval Service
Every 20,000* miles / 2 years.
Interval Service Inspection
Every 40,000* miles / 4 years.
Flexible Service Intervals:
Oil Change Service
Flexible to a maximum of 20,000* miles / 2 years.
Interval Service
Every 20,000 miles /3 years, then every 20,000 miles/2 years thereafter
*Mileages are approximate as the Service indicator system uses Km to calculate the distance to service.
