TDI engine technology made its debut in 1989. Audi presented the world’s first car diesel engine with direct injection and electronic management at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) and Turbodiesel technology with direct injection went on to become a major success.
Today, TDI engines are dynamic, smooth and economical. Their great advantage is that they are extremely powerful even at low revs, and very economical across the entire speed range. This ensures that the TDI engines have both outstanding sprinting and long-distance qualities.
