The weight of the engine block on the front end requires assistance for the steering system – power steering. A pump supplies the necessary pressure to a hydraulic line. This regulates a control valve consistent with the rotation of the steering wheel. The power steering ram is supplied with this pressurised oil and transforms it into power assistance. This supplements the force that the driver applies to the steering wheel. servotronic is a further development of the power-assisted steering that offers the driver even greater comfort and convenience.
