The xenon plus system offers all the xenon advantages (see also xenon headlights) on the high-beam as well. When the driver switches high beam or back to low beam, an electromagnet is energised. Depending on the type, this either repositions a gate in unison with an ellipsoidal reflector, or pivots the xenon arc assembly. The xenon arc permits dispersion of the high beam and combines very great range with very broad lateral illumination. The supplemental high beam halogen spotlight functions as a headlight flasher and further optimises the beam’s throw.
