MMI - Multi Media Interface

The Audi MMI - Multi Media Interface is an integral operating concept for the logically simple and intuitive operation of fitted vehicle and infotainment components. The MMI consists essentially of two elements: the MMI terminal in the centre console and the MMI display, a monochrome or colour monitor in the dashboard. The central element of the MMI terminal is a control button that can be turned and pressed, with four control keys grouped around it. On either side of the terminal there are a total of eight function keys with which the main menus can be called up directly.

The main functions of the system - entertainment, communication, information and control of vehicle systems - are accessed using the eight permanently assigned function keys. Within the individual menus, the driver activates the required functions by turning/pressing the control button. It is intentional that not all settings can be altered in the MMI. Due to the importance of temperature settings for the passengers, for example, a separate control panel has been retained for the automatic climate control.
