Cruise control
The cruise control is an electronic aid that keeps the car moving at a constant speed. It reduces stress, particularly where speed limits must be observed and on long trips and is standard on all A4 models.
Adaptive cruise control
Adaptive cruise control builds on the standard cruise control system and, within certain system limits, allows the driver to maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front. It uses a radar sensor to measure the distance from the vehicle ahead. If the distance is too small, the system reduces speed moderately by easing the throttle or applying the brakes. Once the road ahead is clear again, adaptive cruise control accelerates the car back up to your previous speed.
Adaptive cruise control is also available as part of Technology package – Advanced
