Valonea’s distinguishing characteristic is a pure, active breathing surface which is particularly soft and pleasant to the touch. The leather radiates a unique aura reflected by its comforting, warm feel and exquisite, classic leather fragrance.
The name Valonea comes from the tanning process involving exclusively plant-based substances, making it particularly environmentally friendly. It uses the ripe cupules of various Mediterranean species of oak which are harvested mainly from Turkey and Greece from trees growing in the wild. Thanks to the highly natural character of this leather it acquires its own individual, unmistakable patina over time.
Another unique feature of the Valonea leather in the Audi A8 is the additional use of buckskin leather for the head restraints and gear selector lever. Buckskin is a very rare type of leather which is both supple, hard wearing and highly resistant to tearing.
Valonea leather is available with Comfort seats in either Black or Nougat brown.
