Motorway beam throws light further
Xenon plus headlights, standard on S line models, give the Audi Q7 a great look – especially with LED daytime running lights. But it’s not all show. When you’re driving at night on the motorway, an electronic sensor recognises this and switches the lights from dipped to motorway mode.
In motorway mode, additional light is focused by a special aluminium reflector and gives an extra 70 metres of bright visibility. At 60mph that gives you more than two seconds longer to react to an obstacle in the road. But because of the way the light is focused, the motorway beam doesn’t dazzle oncoming drivers.
