The TT was unveiled as a concept car in 1995. Just three later, it was put into production. It was the dawn of a wonderful new era for Audi. And it began with Bauhaus art.
The Bauhaus art movement was founded in Germany by the architect Walter Gropius who wanted to focus on ‘fundamental design’, not decoration. He felt that true beauty was to be found in a purity of purpose, in exact proportions and carefully controlled geometry.
Audi’s stylists adopted these principles to create the clean, minimal yet award-winningly beautiful TT. Those themes are still evident in every Audi made today.
