After a long winter, the all-new Audi A5 Cabriolet will give customers a chance to soak up some vitamin D when it goes on sale in UK dealerships later this year. The four-seater completes the all-new A5 family and benefits from updated design cues, generous dimensions, a lightweight body and connected car technology. It will ultimately boast a choice of five engines – not including the 354PS V6 turbocharged unit under the bonnet of the range-topping S5 Cabriolet.

The design flaunts a wave-shaped shoulder line and three-dimensional singleframe grille borrowed from the coupé, giving it an elegant, modern identity. Built using a smart mix of materials, the all-new A5 Cabriolet weighs up to 40kg less than its predecessor. An increase in torsional stiffness and a new five-link suspension system promise highly rewarding handling, while optional adaptive dampers can be specified for even greater agility and superior ride comfort.

The all-new A5 Cabriolet now offers even more generous shoulder and leg room within its light and airy cabin. Premium materials enhance passenger comfort, while the driver is assisted by an all-new operating and display system that can be activated by voice control. This includes Audi MMI infotainment with smartphone connectivity and enhanced mobile reception quality.

The lightweight fabric hood has been designed to provide effective insulation and keep wind and road noise to a minimum. It's operated by a new one-touch function and will fully open in 15 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph. Even with the top down, the A5 offers a boot capacity of 380 litres, and the hood cover also elegantly incorporates the third brake light.

The all-new A5 Cabriolet will offer up to 17 per cent more power than the previous model, while using as much as 22 per cent less fuel. Initially, there will be a choice of three engines – 2.0 TDI 190PS, 3.0 TDI 218PS or 2.0 TFSI 252PS – complemented by S tronic or tiptronic transmissions. Drive is delivered as standard to the front wheels, while Audi's all-wheel-drive quattro technology may be chosen as an option for optimum grip and traction.

The all-new A5 Cabriolet offers up to 30 driver assistance systems, including collision avoidance assist and exit warning. Even in the event of a crash, head-thorax side airbags and automatically extending aluminium profiles offer occupants optimum protection. With the all-new A5 Cabriolet, there's never been a smarter way to get your vitamins.
