Electric, compact, efficient: the Audi A2 e-tron
Ingolstadt, September 7, 2026
With the A2 e-tron, Audi is bringing one of the the most efficient models in its history to the road. The new entry point into electric mobility from the brand with the four rings combines a drive system optimised for low energy consumption with outstanding aerodynamics, enabling a range of up to 397 miles* . At the same time, it offers a compelling, spacious interior concept. The A2 e-tron is manufactured at the main plant in Ingolstadt, where it is equipped as standard with extensive digital features and driver assist systems*. Thanks to bidirectional charging, the vehicle can also be used as a flexible energy storage system when needed. Order books in the UK open in October 2026, with the first deliveries beginning early 2027.

Exterior: designed for efficiency
The design language of the A2 e-tron is engineered for high efficiency and everyday usability. Clean, aerodynamically optimized surfaces and carefully integrated details define the exterior. These include a controllable cool-air intake, a largely enclosed underbody, gap reducers integrated into the wheel arch trims that narrow the gap between the tyre and the wheel arch, and newly developed aero wheels. The result is a drag coefficient of 0.24 — the best in Audi’s compact lineup. Wing-shaped electric door handles with haptic sensors blend seamlessly into the side profile and offer exceptional ease of use. This makes it clear that the new generation of premium electric mobility at Audi is defined by technical intelligence, not by larger batteries or more power.

Clean, confident, considered. The new A2 e-tron’s distinctive design continues inside. Cloth and microfibre trimmed sports seats are standard on S line, while Edition 1 gets pure microfibre with dramatic red stitching, plus seat power adjustment with memory.

Distinctive detail – Strongly recalling the classic Audi A2, the e-tron’s rear window is split by a sweeping lip spoiler, enhancing its aerodynamic nature. Slimline rear lights and a milled aluminium badge complete the look.

Interior: spacious on a compact footprint
Customers don’t just want electric cars. They want mobility that suits their daily life. The interior of the A2 e-tron therefore creates a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. The central design element is the Softwrap — a soft, fabric-covered surface that extends from the dashboard across the door panels and into the rear, enhancing the pleasant ambiance. The standard MMI panoramic display combines the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus and the 12.8-inch curved MMI touch display. An optional panoramic glass roof with 1.6 square metres of glass floods the cabin with light; a special coatingprotects occupants from UV rays. The Fidlock fastening system provides smart organisation and modular storage solutions: Audi is the first premium carmaker to integrate the patented magnetic mechanism as standard equipment. Up to three adapters on the centre console and three in the trunk mean a single click is all it takes to attach cupholders or charging cable bags. “Audiconnected work” includes Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and an AI-based work agent.
Standard on board: driver assist systems on par with those found in the full-size class
The A2 e-tron brings assistance features* from the full-size class to the compact segment — and makes them standard equipment. Front emergency brake assist automatically intervenes in the event of an imminent head-on collision with vehicles or pedestrians at speeds up to approximately 52 mph*. Swerve assist helps the driver steer around an obstacle at speeds between 18 and 93 mph. Within the system limits, emergency assist detects when the driver is inactive. They are prompted to take control of the vehicle through visual, audible, and haptic cues. If they still do not respond, the system takes control of the vehicle, initiates an emergency stop, and places an emergency call. In combination with the optional Tech pro package, emergency assist can also perform a lane change onto the shoulder. Optional features include surround-view cameras with 3D modelling, park assist plus, rear emergency brake assist, and trained parking — once trained, the A2 e-tron will park automatically in the future. The likewise optional proactive occupant protection system for the front, sides, and rear detects hazards early and automatically initiates preventive protective measures — such as tightening seat belts, closing windows, and issuing warning alerts.
Drive system and battery: every watt counts
The A2 e-tron is powered by permanent-magnet synchronous motors and features rear-wheel drive. There are four power levels to choose from:
- Audi A2 e-tron 170 PS*
Combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km: 15.7–13.7*; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A* - Audi A2 e-tron 190 PS*
Combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km: 15.6–12.8*; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A* - Audi A2 e-tron 231 PS*
Combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km: 15.7–13.9*; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A* - Audi A2 e-tron 326 PS*
Combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km: 15.1–14.2*; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A*
The three battery sizes — 52, 61, and 84 kWh* (grossbattery capacity) — offer ranges of 262, 320, 391, and 397 miles* according to WLTP. DC charging is supported up to 183 kW; depending on the variant, it takes only 24 to 29 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent*. Four regenerative braking levels, including one-pedal driving via position B on the gear selector, round out the efficient drive concept.
The A2 e-tron also supports bidirectional charging — its high-voltage battery can both receive energy from the grid and feed it back to external devices. For example, the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)* function allows e-bikesto be charged from a power socketin the trunk or via an adapter on the charging port. In the UK, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the A2 e-tron can also serve as a home battery through Vehicle-to-Home (V2H)* when paired with compatible DC wall boxes — feeding stored energy back into the home power grid.
Pricing and market launch
