The heart of the vehicle – the V10 engine
The naturally aspirated V10 engine is located directly behind the passenger compartment. Its 5.2-litre FSI generates 570PS in the V10 Performance RWD or up to 620 PS in the V10 Performance quattro edition, which sprints from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.
And thanks to the mid-engine concept with a low centre of gravity, it has a balanced weight distribution, enabling high speeds even when cornering. Plus, the power steering provides intensive contact to the road.

Emotional design
It pays to drive the Audi R8 Spyder with the hood down. An electrohydraulic drive folds the hood under a carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer lid in just 20 seconds and at speeds of up to 30 mph. It’s just as easy to retract and extend the rear wind deflector at the push of a button.
Combine this with wheel arches that exude power, flattened grooves over the Singleframe, the end-to-end air vent grille at the rear, gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and the oval exhaust tailpipes - and you’ve got one seriously dynamic vehicle.

In the Audi R8 Spyder, you take a seat in R8 Super Sports seats with upholstery in fine Nappa leather. The standard R8 3-spoke flat bottomed sports leather steering wheel with multifunction plus and two control assistant programs give you full control of the vehicle.
Upgrade to the V10 Performance RWD Edition for enhanced interior specification, including carbon fibre upper inlays surrounding the air vents, sporty diamond stitched front seats and a high performance Bang and Olufsen sound system.

When it comes to infotainment with the Audi R8 Spyder you benefit from the 12.3 inch high resolution Audi Virtual Cockpit, as well as the MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch. The MMI touch interface recognises your handwriting: you can input characters and scroll and zoom with your fingers. Alternatively, you can control the MMI using the voice control system.
