Audi e-tron takes progressive technology and blends it with everyday usability, creating the electric driving experience of tomorrow.
Audi e-tron uses an electric motor and a conventional combustion engine. These are able to work independently or in tandem with each other.
This means e-tron models can run purely on the electric motor (ideal for short journeys and city driving), just the combustion engine, or in hybrid mode with both. This offers the driver the performance and reliability of a combustion engine, with the economy of an electric motor.
The Q7 e-tron is as sporty as it is comfortable, whilst being incredibly efficient. The plug-in hybrid brings the best of both worlds to the road, combining the advantages of a 3.0 TDI V6 258PS combustion engine with a 94kW electric motor and our renowned quattro all-wheel drive technology.
Our first e-tron SUV is also the world’s first plug-in hybrid with an integrated heat pump - the thermal management system designed to reuse waste heat of the electrical components and utilise them inside the cabin, for climate control purposes.
Charging at home or on the move is easy. It takes less than 2.5 hours to charge the lithium-ion 17.3 kWh battery. You can charge your e-tron using the following methods:
- Home wall box or public charging point - 7.2 kW (approx. 2.5 hours)
- Industrial socket - 3.6 kW (approx. 4.5 hours) 7.2 kW (approx. 2.5 hours)
- At home using a domestic 3 pin socket (230v 16A)** (approx. 8 hours)

Thanks to the combination of the 3.0 TDI quattro engine and electric motor coupled with the eight-speed tiptronic transmission, the Q7 e-tron can accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds.

The A3 e-tron has a purely electric range of up to 29 miles. The combination of electric motor and petrol engine offers a range of approximately 536 miles*– so if you need to make a long trip, you can do so without needing to stop to recharge.

May not reflect real world driving – actual range may vary as a result of driving mode and style, additional electricity using equipment, optional wheels, load/number of passengers, outside temperature, terrain and other factors.
The ‘combined/weighted’ fuel consumption/CO2 figures are calculated from two test results: one when the battery is fully charged and another when the battery is discharged. The two results are a weighted average, taking into account mileage range on battery power only, providing a figure in a variety of charge conditions. Battery charged using mains sourced electricity via plug-in. Extended range achieved by 1.4 TFSI petrol engine in the A3 Sportback e-tron and 3.0 TDI quattro diesel engine in the Audi Q7 generating electricity. Fuel consumption and CO2 figures are obtained under standardised EU test conditions (Directive 93/116/EEC). This allows a direct comparison between different manufacturer models but may not represent the actual fuel consumption achieved in ‘real world’ driving conditions. Range figures are calculated on the basis of the standardised EU test figures for fuel consumption. As a result, they are illustrative only and may not represent the actual range achieved in ‘real world’ driving conditions. Achieved range can vary depending on many factors, including driving style, speed, the use of convenience features/secondary consumers, outside temperature, the number of passengers/size of load, selection of driving profile and topography. Emissions are while driving.
**Consult an electrician before plugging into a domestic socket for the first time. If your outlet is patched into the same circuit as your kitchen or laundry room, for instance, the additional amperage drawn may be enough to trip a breaker switch. Establishing a separate circuit for charging will ensure that your e-tron is fed a full night of uninterrupted current.
