    Install an Ohme wall box

Ohme is one of our recommended and trusted home EV charging partners, who have been voted as the Best Electric Charging Point Provider by Business Motoring for the second year in a row. They offer a range of wall boxes with features such as smart scheduling, which, depending on your energy tariff, could charge your Audi e-tron when the electricity rates are lower.

    Charging with a 3-pin socket

At Audi, we highly recommend that you use a wall box to charge your electric Audi. However, occasionally you may want to charge your car using a 3-pin socket, therefore your electric Audi also comes with a Compact Charging System¹, to help you connect.

If using a domestic socket, please consult an electrician before plugging in for the first time².

Smartphone control with myAudi

You can easily manage charging functions using the myAudi app.

Check the charge of your car’s battery and range status; plan journeys showing charge stations and send the route to the car’s navigation system – it can all be done via the app.

The compact charging system is currently unavailable with some of our TFSI e models, however these models will still come with an alternative charging system to allow charging via a 3-pin plug. The AC charging cable (mode 3 type 2) is not affected and will also be supplied. The industrial charging cable is not included for these vehicles. For more information, please speak to your local Audi centre.

Contact an electrician before plugging into a domestic socket for the first time as suitability for charging using a domestic socket will depend on the condition of the wiring in your home. If the domestic socket is on the same circuit as other appliances, particularly those in frequent use, the additional amperage may be enough to trip a breaker switch. Establishing a separate circuit for charging will help make sure the car is fed a full night of uninterrupted current. We recommend using an electric vehicle home wall box with its own separate circuit. We recommend that you keep the Compact Charging System in the vehicle in case of an emergency or temporary need to plug in to a 3-pin socket whilst away from home. From April 2022, the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) announced that the Electric Vehicle Homecharge scheme (EVHS) grant of £350 is being replaced by the EV charge point grant which is only available to homeowners who live in flats & consumers in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties). Our partner Ohme can advise if you are eligible and will support you through the grant application process. New customers to Octopus Energy who: (1) are UK residents; (2) purchase a compatible new or used Audi electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle; (3) set up an Octopus Energy account for gas and/or electricity as the energy account holder; (4) sign up to Octopus Energy via a referral link provided by Audi; and (5) have a compatible smart meter or have one installed by Octopus Energy (subject to survey and assessment of suitability) will be eligible for a £45 credit for each fuel type (gas and electricity) on their Octopus Energy account. To receive the £90 credit, customers must switch both their gas and electricity to Octopus Energy. If a customer only switches one (i.e. gas or electricity, but not both), then the customer will receive a £45 credit only. The credit shall be applied once the account has been activated and the first direct debit payment has been taken. If the customer qualifies for more than one discount, Octopus Energy reserves the right to apply only one. Existing Octopus Energy customers (who joined Octopus Energy directly) are eligible for this credit offer, provided they did not join via Octopus Energy's "Refer a Friend" scheme or through a different partner and have not already received a joining reward. These customers should contact Octopus directly via existingevoffer@octoenergy.com. The suitability of a smart meter depends on various factors including strength of signal, access to meter and complexity of meter set up. If a customer's house is not suitable, then the customer will not be eligible for the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff or the £90 credit. For further information and T&Cs, please visit https://octopus.energy/audi/. This offer is subject to change and may be withdrawn without notice.
