Audi TFSI: Direct injection petrol and turbocharging combined
TFSI technology unlocks superior power, more dynamic performance and better economy from petrol engines. In fact, compared with many naturally aspirated V6 engines with more cylinders, TFSI delivers the same sporty performance but using 10 to 15% less fuel.
FSI and turbocharging technology work so well together because the evaporation of fuel in the combustion chamber cools the intake air giving higher compression, improved engine efficiency and, in turn, lower CO2 emissions.
Introducing the Audi valvelift system
Featured in the Audi A4 2.0 litre TFSI engines, this innovation varies the valve lift between two levels. This provides the car with better low-end torque and a more effective dynamic torque build up. The effect is a significant increase in engine efficiency, so you can get greater power and improved response from less fuel.
The Audi A4 can also be equipped with a 1.8 litre TFSI engine, giving you a range of engines to suit your needs – the choice is yours.
